Amigurumi animal - Sea Turtle
Material:-
- Worsted-weight yarn, Light Green & Light Brown color
- F/5 3.75mm crochet hook
- Poly-Fil or any stuffing of your choice
- Yarn needle
- Two 8.5mm plastic safety eyes
- White colour Felt
Abbreviation Key:-
- sc = single crochet
- ch = chain
- sl st = slip stitch
- dec = decrease (join next 2 sts into 1)
- inc = increase (2 sc in next st)
- BLO = back loop only
- FLO = front loop only
Notes:-
- This crochet Little Sea Turtle are special order from my BFF. Gauge is not important – just keep a consistent tension throughout the entire project.
- Crochet in a spiral. Use something to mark the first stitch of a round, and move it up as you work.
- “The Magic Circle” is use to start each piece. Alternative technique: ch 2, then sc x6 into the second chain away from the hook. Slip stitch to join the round. This creates Round 1.
Sea turtle’s head:-
Use Light Green colour yarn.
Round 1: Magic Circle with a base of 6
stitches
Round 2: inc x6 = 12 sts
Round 3: ( 1 inc, sc in next st ) = 18
sts
Round 4: ( 1 inc, sc in next 2 sts ) =
24 sts
Round 5: sc in next 24 stitches = 24
sts
Round 6: ( 1 inc, sc in next 3 sts ) =
30 sts
Round 7-9: sc in next 30 stitches = 30
sts
Round 10: ( 1 dec, sc in next 3 sts ) =
24 sts
Round 11: sc in next 24 stitches = 24
sts
Round 12: ( 1 dec, sc in next 2 sts ) =
18 sts
*Insert the
Plastic Safety Eyes between Round 8
& Round 9 and attach washers. Eyes should be about both sides apart. Both of the Plastic Safety Eyes attach with White
colour Felt.
Round 13: ( 1 dec, sc in next st ) = 12
sts
Round 14: dec x6 = 6 sts
Round 15: Fasten off
Sea turtle’s back fins (make 2 pieces):-
Use Light Green colour yarn.
Round 1: Magic Circle with a base of 6
stitches
Round 2: inc x6 = 12 sts
Round 3: ( 1 inc, sc in next st ) x6 =
18 sts
Round 4: ( 1 inc, sc in next 2 sts ) x6
= 24 sts
Round 5: Fold it & sc the up &
down part together until the end, fasten off.
Sea turtle’s front fins (make 2 pieces):-
Use Light Green colour yarn.
