Free Crochet Pattern for Onion - Amigurumi Vegetable

Amigurumi vegetable - Onion


Material:-

  • Worsted-weight yarn, Cream, Green & Light Brown colour
  • F/5 3.75mm crochet hook
  • Poly-Fil or any stuffing of your choice
  • Yarn needle
  • Two plastic safety eyes
  • stainless / steel wire
Abbreviation Key:-
  • sc = single crochet
  • ch = chain
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • dec = decrease ( join next 2 sts into 1 )
  • inc = increase ( 2 sc in next st )
Onion's root:-
Use cream colour yarn
make 25~30 length around 18cm
Use light brown colour yarn
make 15 length around 18cm
fold half & tie all together

Onion's leave:-
Use green colour yarn
cut s/s wire to 5 pcs ( 2 x 15cm, 2 x 11cm, 1 x 7cm )
use green colour yarn sc on the wire, all the way from bottom to the  top & return to the bottom part.
althernative:-
use green colour yarn wrap the whole s/s wire

Onion's body:-
Use Cream colour yarn
Round 1: Magic Circle with a base of 4 stitches
Round 2: ( 1 inc, 1 sc ) x 2 = 6 sts
Round 3: ( 1 inc, 1 sc ) x 3 = 9 sts
Round 4: ( 1 inc, 2 sc ) x 3 = 12 sts
Round 5: ( 1 inc, 3 sc ) x 3 = 15 sts
Round 6: ( 1 inc, 4 sc ) x 3 = 18 sts
Round 7: ( 1 inc, 2 sc ) x 6 = 24 sts
Round 8: ( 1 inc, 3 sc ) x 6 = 30 sts
Round 9: ( 1 inc, 4 sc ) x 6 = 36 sts
Round 10: ( 1 inc, 5 sc ) x 6 = 42 sts
Round 11~15: sc in the next 42 stitches ( 5 rows ) = 42 sts
*Insert the green colour leave to the top part.
Round 16: ( 1 dec, 5 sc ) x 6 = 36 sts
Round 17: ( 1 dec, 4 sc ) x 6 = 30 sts
Round 18: ( 1 dec, 3 sc ) x 6 = 24 sts
**Insert the plastic safety eyes between Round 13 & 14 and attach washers. Eyes should be about 8 sts apart.
Round 19: ( 1 dec, 2 sc ) x 6 = 18 sts
Round 20: ( 1 dec, 1 sc ) x 6 = 12 sts
Round 21: dec x 6 = 6 sts
***Insert the root part to the bottom part, sew it & hide the tail.

Free Crochet Pattern for Amigurumi Vegetable (English Version)

Amigurumi Vegetable - Pea's Wedding Doll


Material:-
  • Worsted-weight yarn, Light Green, Green, Black & White color
  • F/5 3.75mm crochet hook
  • Poly-Fil or any stuffing of your choice
  • Yarn needle
  • Four 8.5mm plastic safety eyes
  • White colour Felt & Chiffon
  • Black colour Ribbon

Abbreviation Key:-
  • sc = single crochet
  • ch = chain
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • dec = decrease (join next 2 sts into 1)
  • inc = increase (2 sc in next st)
  • BLO = back loop only
  • FLO = front loop only

Notes:-
  • I found this Pea's Wedding Doll picture in Google, and love it so much. This funny "RUNAWAY BRIDE" is a result of my project, because my workshop are run-out White Chiffon. Gauze is not important - just keep maintain a consistent tension throughout the entire project.
  • Crochet in a spiral. Use something to mark the first stitch of a round, and move it up as you work.
  • “The Magic Circle” is use to start each piece. Alternative technique: ch 2, then sc x6 into the second chain away from the hook. Slip stitch to join the round. This creates Round 1.

Pea's Groom:-
Use Light Green colour yarn.
Round 1: Magic Circle with a base of 6 stitches
Round 2: inc x6 = 12 sts
Round 3: ( 1 inc, sc in next st ) = 18 sts
Round 4: ( 1 inc, sc in next 2 sts ) = 24 sts
Round 5: ( 1 inc, sc in next 3 sts ) = 30 sts
Round 6: sc in next 30 stitches = 30 sts
Round 7: ( 1 inc, sc in next 4 sts ) = 36 sts
Round 8-10: sc in next 36 stitches = 36 sts
Use Black colour yarn.
Round 11-12: sc in next 36 stitches = 36 sts
Round 13: ( 1 dec, sc in next 4 sts ) = 30 sts
Round 14: sc in next 30 stitches = 30 sts
Round 15: ( 1 dec, sc in next 3 sts ) = 24 sts
*Insert the Plastic Safety Eyes between Round 9 & Round 10 and attach washers. Eyes should be about 8 stitches apart.
**Insert the Black Bow-tie between Rounnd 11 & 12 and attach with White Felt. 
Round 16: ( 1 dec, sc in next 2 sts ) = 18 sts
Round 17: ( 1 dec, sc in next st ) = 12 sts
Round 18: dec x6 = 6 sts
Round 19: Fasten off & hide the tail


Pea's Bride:-
Use Light Green colour yarn.

Round 4: ( 1 inc, sc in next 2 sts ) = 24 sts

Round 7: ( 1 inc, sc in next 4 sts ) = 36 sts
Round 8-10: sc in next 36 stitches = 36 sts
Use White colour yarn.
Round 11-12: sc in next 36 stitches = 36 sts
Round 13: ( 1 dec, sc in next 4 sts ) = 30 sts
Round 14: sc in next 30 stitches = 30 sts
Round 15: ( 1 dec, sc in next 3 sts ) = 24 sts
*Insert the Plastic Safety Eyes between Round 9 & Round 10 and attach washers. Eyes should be about 8 stitches apart.
**Insert the White Chiffon between Round 3 & 4 and put some decoration with it. 
Round 16: ( 1 dec, sc in next 2 sts ) = 18 sts
Round 17: ( 1 dec, sc in next st ) = 12 sts
Round 18: dec x6 = 6 sts
Round 19: Fasten off & hide the tail

Round 2: 1 ch and inc 3 sts in stitches 11th, 10 sc, 3 sts in stitches 1st, 10 sc
Round 3: ( 3 inc, 10 sc ) x2
Round 4: {( 1 inc, sc in next st ) 10 sc } x2
Round 5: {( 1 inc, sc in next 2 sts ) 10 sc } x2
Round 6: {( 1 inc, sc in next 3 sts ) 10 sc } x2
Round 7: {( 1 inc, sc in next 4 sts ) 10 sc } x2
Round 8: sc a whole round
Round 9: {( 1 inc, sc in next 5 sts ) 10 sc } x2
Round 10-15: sc a whole round
Round 16: Fasten off & hide the tail.
